Privacy Policy – Principles

A privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages data about its visitors and customers. A privacy policy also typically includes an explanation of the website's commitment to privacy protection and the various mechanisms the website has in place to protect privacy.

As different jurisdictions have different legal requirements for what should be included in a privacy policy, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with laws relevant to your business operations and location.

Items to be included in the privacy policy

Generally, a privacy policy will specify the following: what information a website collects, how it collects it, an explanation of why the website collects this type of information, and its interactions with third parties. How the website operates with respect to information sharing, how visitors and customers can exercise their relevant privacy rights and rights under personal protection laws, and certain practices regarding the collection of data from minors.
